Sadie Rose went to heaven on September 20, 2014. She spent her life pleasing, adoring, and sharing everything with her mommy. Sadie had an abusive start to life, even had heartworm, but as soon as her eyes met her mommy's eyes, it was unconditional and loyal love thru her dying breath. Her eyes touched with love to the depth of her mommy's soul. Sadie didn't like men except for Ed and Dr. Kevin Cawood, and boy were they glad of that. She loved both of them dearly. Sadie loved wearing her winter coats, leg warmers, Halloween costumes, and always had one of her "pretty girl" bandanas on. She loved her stuffed "lambies", she drank out of a glass, ate off of a spoon, and licked many plates. She never thought she was a dog. Occasionally Mommy, Ed, and Sadie made a family trip to Burger King and went thru the drive thru for a plain hamburger and a glass of water. What a tail wagging event! Sadie was "Big Black Dog with Big Black Nose" greeter at the door, whether mommy was gone two minutes or two hours. The joy in her eyes and the greeting was always filled with love. One of her favorite things to do was chase bunnies, even bringing them to the back door for mommy to see. Sadie loved to lay on the couch having her belly rubbed and eating Cheez-It crackers with mommy. (We kept that secret from Dr. Cawood!) Sadie always slept beside mommy, being petted and nuzzling until she fell asleep. Mornings were always a cold nose waking mommy up with love. Her tail always wagged, even to the excitement and speed of looking like a twirling helicopter. Never once did mommy feel afraid or unloved. She was Mommy's best friend and companion. There was a bond that could not be broken – ever. I want to give a very special thank you to Dr. Kevin Cawood and his entire staff at Indian Creek Veterinary Hospital. It brings tears to my eyes and has touched my heart on the care given to Sadie Rose. Everyone gave their all, with not only their skills, but with their hearts. You are all amazing and I love you all. Even though Mommy, Ed, and all those that loved Sadie are heartbroken, I want everyone to celebrate the love Sadie gave. She will be missed everyday forever. I also want to thank D.O. McComb and Sons Tribute Center Pet Services for showing dignity and care thru her viewing and cremation. You gave me some peace to Sadie's transition to heaven. Sadie was mommy's "Baby Girl"…Love you Sadie Rose, xoxx Mommy. Arrangements by McComb Pet Services, 2307 West Main Street, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
