Hazel was born to be a silver lab in October of 2007. She had the most beautiful coloring with silver ears, a charcoal body, white on her chest, and adorable brindle legs. She passed away on July 29, 2015 in her favorite place, in bed with her Dave. Hazel never strayed far from her "parents". She was a little afraid of new situations but she faced her fears head on. Usually causing a little fear to those on the receiving end. She would never hurt anyone, or anything though. She was the adoptive mommy to Charlie the cat whom she lovingly mothered since she was a kitten. There was that one time that Hazel accidentally laid down on top of her and didn't realize that all of the hissing and meowing was coming from underneath her. We've all had accidents, right? Hazel was lucky to have a great big lake right in her front yard where she would go for boat rides and swim with her brother Duke. She would run down the dock, skid to a stop, then do a cannonball right into the water. She won't be remembered for being graceful. She also loved to lead the way, anywhere you went, all the while looking back at you unsure of where she should be going. Hazel had a collection of over 20 babies that she lovingly chewed all of their eyes out and took turns carrying everywhere. Shamu was her favorite. You could always count on her standing at the top of the stairs, and throwing one of her babies at you just as you got half way down. When you looked back at her, you could see her laughing. Hazel loved nightly walks around the neighborhood circle, especially if there were a worm or two to roll in along the way. Hazel leaves behind at home, her momma and daddy, David and Chandra Wilson, brother Duke, sister Charlie Mouse the cat, and turtles, Axys and Ruby who already miss her more than words can describe, along with her "teenager" and kindred spirit, Allissa. It brings us peace knowing she was greeted by so many others when she got there, including her good friend Zoey, who also left us way too soon. The family would like to thank the vets at Sylvan Lake Animal clinc, Tri-State veterinary clinic for their great care of Hazel over the years and also the amazing vets at the Animal Care Clinic in Auburn who saved her life earlier this year and have taken so much time and shown tremendous respect, care and compassion to Hazel and her family over the last year. Thanks also to DO McComb & Sons Tribute Center for their amazing services. Hazel gave the greatest kisses and we know that one day, we will feel them again.
